We believe that clients should be charged based on value that is delivered to them, not how much time the attorney spent working on their file. Our flat-rate pricing lets clients know exactly how much they should anticipate spending. We believe our flat-rate pricing encourages clients to spend more time to communicate with us so that we can get the job done right. It also encourages us to spend our time on tasks which we believe will deliver value to the client.
If you are not completely satisfied with the legal services provided to you, we will refund 100% of your money back, no questions asked. That is how confident we are that you will be satisfied with your estate planning experience with Rivers Law. It's how clients should be treated.
Also, after years of practical experience, we know what clients need and what clients don't. We promise to never "oversell" a client on a legal "product" which is not particularly useful for that client. We recommend what you need and nothing else.
I wanted to go to law school to help people and to become engaged within the community. After I graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law, I obtained an LL.M. degree in taxation with an emphasis in estate planning from Georgetown University Law Center, where I graduated with Distinction and with Honors. I practiced in trusts and estate at highly regarded law firms in both North Carolina and South Carolina for five years. During my studies and subsequent work experience, I learned how to implement a wide array of estate planning techniques, including very sophisticated strategies for high net-worth clients, who often had assets in excess of $50 million. However, I felt like I could do things differently, more efficiently, and I could help people achieve their legal needs in a more cost effective and personable manner. I believed legal fees should be reasonable and not cost prohibitive to ordinary families, especially to young families who often need estate planning the most. I thought that I could keep costs low by using sophisticated technology and implementing repeatable systems which could generate comprehensive documents relatively quickly and efficiently.
I felt that I could best serve my clients and my family by opening my own law office, where I could practice law differently. I wanted to help people pass on not only their assets but the more important things in life such as values, beliefs, and feelings of sentiment towards their families.
